Identify the limiting factors before prescribing solutions
Many players spend years trying to solve the wrong problem.
A technical issue may be influenced by movement quality. A tactical problem may originate from physical limitations. A performance drop may be linked to recovery, visual skills, breathing patterns or decision-making under pressure.
Before changing the training process, it is essential to understand what is actually limiting performance.
The purpose of the Performance Assessment is to identify those limiting factors and establish clear priorities for intervention.
WHAT IS EVALUATED
The assessment can include:
THE PROCESS
Step 1 – Information Gathering
Collection of player history, goals, training structure, injury history and performance data.
Step 2 – Observation
Direct observation during training sessions, match situations or through video analysis.
Step 3 – Assessment
Analysis of the different performance systems and identification of the factors that most influence performance.
Step 4 – Report and Priorities
Definition of the key intervention areas and practical recommendations for the player and coaching team.
WHO IS IT FOR?
THE GOAL
The goal is not to generate more data.
The goal is to generate better decisions.
By understanding the relationships between technique, movement, physical preparation, visual skills, recovery and decision-making, it becomes possible to focus training on what truly matters.
Performance improves when the right problem is addressed.
